Materials contain an interview with Vernon R. Thompson, compiled by Shirley Howard, entitled "A Tale of Two Heroes" which discusses his service in North Africa and Italy for the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Also includes his involvement with the modifications of the "Enola Gay" at Tinker Field Air Force Base, Oklahoma in preparation to drop the Atomic Bomb. Interview also involves Mary Thompson, his wife, who also worked at Tinker Field. Dated 1994.
