Folder contains correspondence, legislative bills, reports, newspaper clippings, congressional records, and statements from 1963 to 1965 concerning the Central Arizona Project in Arizona and New Mexico as well as controversy surrounding the preservation of the Grand Canyon area in the Western United States. The information about the Central Arizona Project pertains to the conflict between California and Arizona about the use of water from the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon information deals with the construction of the Marble Gorge and Bridge Canyon dams in the Lower Colorado River Basin Project which would back up water into the Grand Canyon.
