Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a short memoir recounting Martin J. Dalebout's combat experience on the Italian front lines in the U.S. Army during World War II. Recounts a particular instance in which he was seriously wounded by German machine gun fire. Discusses his subsequent medical care and his miraculous healing (aided by a blessing given by a fellow Latter-Day Saint soldier). Also contains a hand-written account of his living conditions, physical and spiritual health, and the support he received from his family throughout the war. Includes his discharge papers and the citation for his Bronze Star. Dated 1945, November 30, 1984, approximately 2001.
