File contains materials relating to the personal life and service of Ephraim Hatch in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an electronic technician. Materials contain a portion of Ephraim Hatch's autobiography covering his military years and the courting of his wife (1998). Discusses his work on military plane designs for Boeing in Seattle, which earned him a deferment from active service. Also describes his short time on Navy ships in the Pacific Theater. Includes a narrative describing the fulfillment of promises of safety within Hatch's patriarchal blessing. Majority of collection describes his relationship with his wife: their meeting, courting, marriage, and life during the war. Includes letters between Hatch and his wife and journal entries from each. Numerous photocopied photographs throughout show Hatch in military settings and with his wife. Dated 1987-1998.
