Materials contain a detailed memoir written by Ferron Robert Jones regarding his service in the U.S. Naval Air Force during World War II from 1942-1945. Discusses his training, especially describes his transfers to the Philippines, Kwajalein, and Saipan. Includes a short biography of Jones's brother, Hyrum Duane Jones, killed in action at New Guinea. Contains descriptions of the Filipino environment and customs of Pacific natives. Also contains accounts of his night patrols along the Chinese coast. Photographs show Jones in military dress, with flight crew members, and with his wife. Also includes his obituary. Dated 1942-1945, 1998-1989.
