Materials contain a memoir detailing the maritime experiences of Charles F. Foster in the U.S. Navy during World war II aboard the U.S.S. Winged Arrow. Discusses his unit's role in supplying the invading troops at Saipan and Leyte, in the Philippines, with a description of naval bombardments on enemy coastal batteries at the former battle. Includes his discharge papers, a card stating which medals he was awarded, and a copy of his birth certificate. Photographs show him in full military dress, his ship, and fellow crew members. Dated 1944-2000.
