Materials contain an account of William S. Essex's experiences in the U.S. Navy during World War II and after the Japanese surrender assigned to the U.S.S. Okanogan (Attack Transport [APA] 220). Discusses his duties as a signalman and member of a Beach Battalion, his two landings on Okinawa and humorous incidents while on the Philippines and Japan. Essex's short histories are titled: "Capture the Flag", "The Okinawa Experience", "Double Cross!!", and "Grand Theft---Auto". Dated approximately 2000.
