Scope and Contents

Materials contain papers relating to Averill Arnell Pugmire and his service in the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II assigned to the Medical Corps as an Operating Room Technician. Contains brief memoir of Pugmire's service including experiences as a Latter-day Saint sailor and aboard ship during the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Includes a photocopy of letters sent to Pugmire by a Latter-day Saint shipmate, Earl A. Jenne. Also contains photocopied notes for talks and other papers, including minutes, related to Latter-day Saint meetings held aboard U.S.S. Talladega (APA-208). Dated 1944-1945, 2001.
