Scope and Contents

Materials contain papers relating to Grant Bunderson Bitter's service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Bitter served aboard the U.S.S. Gladiator AM-319 and was a Radar man 2nd Class. The papers briefly mention all operations the Gladiator participated in and discusses the dangers encountered including typhoons and Japanese Kamikaze pilots at Okinawa. Also includes the conversion story of one of Bitter's shipmates. Contains photocopied photographs of U.S.S. Gladiator, Bitter, his shipmates, and Latter-day Saint servicemen. Dated 1943-1946, 1991.
