Scope and Contents
Materials contain papers relating to Philip Ellgen's military service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Includes two copies of a memoir that discusses briefly his combat assignment on Guam, and in more detail the dangers and severe wounds he suffered on Iwo Jima. Includes photocopied photographs of Ellgen as a Marine and his family. Also contains two photocopied copies of honorable discharge papers for Philip Eugene Ellgen. Dated 1944-2002.
