Scope and Contents
Materials contain a transcription of Calvin W. Elton's speech to a group of young men in 1996 on his service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Elton discusses and answers questions about his experiences serving in the Philippines, being taken prisoner by the Japanese, and participating in the Bataan Death March. Contains a photocopied newspaper article about Elton becoming a prisoner of war (1942) and two copied photographs of Elton in uniform. Dated February 25, 1996, 1942.
