Administrative History

Randolph Reserve Association (active 1919-1956) was a grazing association in Randolph, Utah. It was a subsidiary of the Randolph Land and Livestock Company.

In the months prior to February 1919, a new subsidiary company, the Randolph Reserve Association, was formed with A. P. Jacobson as President and H. J. Norris Jr., as Secretary. The Randolph Reserve Association was an "organization of permittees of the Cache National Forest." Many of the "permittees" were affiliated with the Randolph Land and Live Stock Company, and Board members from the Randolph Land and Livestock Company acted as an Advisory Board for The Randolph Reserve Association. The Randolph Reserve Association was also closely associated with the Forest Service. Randolph Reserve Association land was for the exclusive use of the "permittees" livestock, primarily cattle and horses but no sheep. Working as a cooperative, each "permittee" was expected to contribute labor equal to the amount of livestock he had on the reserve. Primary concerns of the Advisory Board included rock salt distribution, turning out bulls, dipping cattle, and herding. The last recorded meeting of the Randolph Reserve Association was on December 3, 1936.
