Clyde D. Gessel papers, after 1978, 1943-1946
Scope and Contents
Materials contain a written history of Clyde D. Gessel's training and military experiences includes descriptions of his assignments in Australia, New Guinea, and Washington, D. C. Contains photographs of Gessel and his areas of military service. Also included are photocopies of his military discharge papers, promotion certificates, and a schematic of a Japanese "Baka" suicide bomb used for kamikaze attacks, and a letter signed by General Douglas MacArthur authorizing Gessel to request services and supplies from any Allied post throughout the Pacific. Dated 1943-1946, after 1978.
