File contains materials relating to the service of Donald E. Bone in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Materials contain a memoir which includes describe the living conditions on the Solomon Islands, Admiralty Islands, and the island of Noemfoor. Includes news clippings detailing a dangerous bombing mission against the large Japanese oil fields and refineries at Balikpapan, Borneo. Contains photographs of Bone in military uniform and with his flight crew in front of their plane. Dated approximately 1944, May 11, 2001.
