Materials contain papers relating to Douglas C. Phillips' service as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1946. Phillips was assigned to the Air Training and Air Transport Command. Discusses briefly his service in flying cargo planes over the Himalaya Mountains. Discusses the purposes and dangers of these missions. Includes a copy of a letter commending Phillips on a night rescue mission, a photocopied excerpt about "flying the Hump" from a book, and a brief published biography of Phillips. Dated approximately 1995- 2008.
