Scope and Contents
Materials include newspapers, programs, and biographies describing Leonard Brostrom service in the U.S. Army during World War II. He discusses his eight days of combat and single-handedly taking out a main Japanese pill box in Leyte, Philippines. Newspaper clippings about his heroism and about the ship named after him are included. Also included is a copy of the program where his father was awarded the Medal of Honor for his son and a brief biographical sketch of Brostrom. Dated 1945, 1967-1980.
