Ora Eastman poem, 1864 September 6
Scope and Contents note
Poem penned for Caroline Eastman at her betrothal in 1864. The poem is dated September 5, 1864 and reads "Now all young men take pattern by this / And soon obtain its same sweet bliss / For Caddie's now a blooming bride / With Willie standing by her side." The ambrotype of Caddie was found among his things at William Henry Jackson's death.
