Scope and Contents

Materials contain a history of Milton Gardner Widdison's experiences as a chaplain in the U.S. Army during World War II. He discusses being stationed in Hawaii for some time before being transferred to Okinawa and later serving in the Philippines. Includes an autobiography, photocopied photographs (1942-1944), photocopied letters (1947-1948), photocopied certificate (1976), and photocopied newspaper articles. Also includes one panoramic photograph taken of LDS servicemen and women in Honolulu in 1942. Materials dated 1941-2001.

Caption on panoramic photograph: Honolulu, 1942; LDS servicemen in front of Tabernacle. The gathering was related to the presentation by the Japanese LDS mission, of recreation equipment to be used for the entertainment of American servicemen. I received a 16mm belt and Howell movie projector, a public address system, and a library of paper backed books. These were given with no strings attached. Milton G. Widdison, Chaplain.
