Scope and Contents
Materials contain a history of R. Lynn Nielson regarding his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Discusses training and radio school, serving in Hawaii, and fighting the Japanese in Kwajalein, Saipan, Tinian, the Philippines, and Okinawa. Includes maps, poems, and journal entries written by Nielson in 1987 and 1991, Army certificates, copied photographs, and copied newspaper articles. There is also a Saints at War Participant Information Sheet with background and consent information, and correspondence between Nielson and the Saints at War director. Dated 1944-2012.
