Materials contain a short memoir discussing Royal H. Sorensen's military involvement during World War II, and his commission as a medical officer. Describes his transfer to New Guinea and the living conditions on that island. Also describes his unit's participation as support at the invasions of Leyte Gulf and Mindanao, and in the occupation of Japan. Gives details of sanitary conditions on the front lines. Dated after 1949.
