Scope and Contents

Materials contain papers of Herbert Frost regarding his service in the U.S. Army during World War II in a field hospital unit of the 263rd Medical Battalion. Contains a transcribed interview of Frost conducted in 2000. He talks about his training and service in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. Also contains a memoir written by Frost about his military service, a history of Company "C" of the 263rd Medical Battalion, photocopied Army certificates and documents, photocopied newspaper articles (1944-1995), maps, a photocopied program from a Protestant service in Camp Gordon Johnston in Florida in 1943, a short summary of Frost's military service, and copied photographs. Contains several letters written between Frost and Doctor Vasco M. Tanner from Brigham Young University about Frost's study and collection of animal specimens in the Pacific (1942-1945). Dated 1942-2000.
