Peter Gottfredson and Gledhill family history and genealogy : 1810-1930, approximately 1900-1934
Scope and Contents
Contains one book compiled by Peter Gottfredson that includes his own autobiography, a Jens Gottfredson biography and detailed family history and posterity record, and a brief history of the Edward and Betty Hague Gledhill family. The Peter Gottfredson autobiography includes details of his career and family life, but also details his experience in the Utah Indian Wars, particularly between 1865 and 1867. Many of the stories he relates in the autobiography (pages 74-93) are fleshed out in more detail in his book, Indian Depredations in Utah, published in 1919. The autobiography also gives details of Peter’s process in writing his book. Also contained in the compilation are inserts of newspapers, mostly regarding Peter Gottfredson, and an 8.5"x11" insert that contains lists of Gottfredson relatives. Materials were created approximately 1900-1934.
