Materials contain a history of Sydney H. Heiner titled "World War II." The history discusses his service in the U.S. Army 115th Engineer Battalion during World War II. Discusses in detail his induction, training, and various military assignments including cooking, correcting maps, and operating of water purification systems. Also mentions his pursuit of photography and exploration while on Hawaii, Guadalcanal, New Britain Islands, and the Philippines. Includes his reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor, his furlough in Australia, and his battle with malaria following the war. Contains his answers to the Latter-day Saints in the Military Information Sheet.
