Biographical / Historical
Sidney Algernon Coray (1855-1943) was a Utah farmer and rancher.
Sidney Algernon Coray was born on July 9, 1855 in Tooele, Utah to Howard Coray and Martha Jane Knowlton. He spent his childhood working his father's farm in Mona, Utah until serving a mission for the Church. He served in the Sandwich Islands from April 9, 1880 to May 1, 1883. After serving his mission, he returned to ranching in Mona. He married Lydia Ann Lerwill and adopted her two children. They had one child together.
Soon after his marriage, Coray began a ranch of his own until 1900. He and his family moved to Payson, Utah and made their home on a small fruit farm where he did carpentry work. Coray died in Provo, Utah on May 11, 1943.
