Scope and Contents

Contains various pictorial documents originally printed on both parchment and animal skins, with pencil descriptions on the back of each item as follows: 1) Several Aztec deities, ayotlan - txtamixcoatl, etc. 17th cent. 2) Aztec record. Calendar with Totic the god of time in the center. Goat skin. 3) The peregenation of the Aztecs from Aztlan, the resting place at Chicomostoc, division of the trives, station of Coatepec; Tlamaco; presentation of the kings of Mexico to Texcox the great, king of Colhuacan, A.D. 1241-1301; campaign of Tehuantepec, 1497; emperor Ahuiztl, A.D. 1486-1502. About 1530. Parchment." 4) Aztec drawing in red and black - parchment. Group of warriors representing the eight original tribes who peopled the valley of Mexico after separating from the other tribes at Chicomostoc. 17th Century. 5) Aztec record showing Mexican coat of arms, Xolotl the great, Tenoch, Coxcox, and Moctezuma the second.
