Materials contain "The Family History of George W. and Leona Armstrong Grimshaw" compiled by Theon M. Thorley and Eleanor Grimshaw Heywood (circa 1995). This work describes Grimshaw's service with the U.S. Army during World War I, Battery D 13th Field Artillery, and 4th Division. Relates Grimshaw's experiences in basic training in California, Texas, and North Carolina. Also describes the voyage to France and his job on the front lines in artillery and communications. Also details the last hours before the Armistice on November 11, 1918. Dated 2001.
