Scope and Contents

Materials contain a timeline delineating LeRoy T. Tippetts's military service, which suddenly ended with his death in a routine training accident aboard his B-24 Liberator Bomber. Also contains excerpts from letters and telegrams sent from the war department updating his family on his condition. Includes a description of his funeral, along with a poem written for him following his death. Also includes a short narrative about Tippetts's childhood. Photographs show Tippetts in full military dress, with his bombing crew and plane, with family members, and during his childhood. All information is contributed by Gary M. Goodrich. Dated 1945-2001.
