Scope and Contents
This series includes papers regarding Otto Duke's involvement with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, such as talks, projects, Park Stake SLC stake missionary work, 10th Ward papers, pamphlets, booklets, and church news and literature. Also includes some articles and pamphlets about the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The bulk of the material comes from 1930 to 1946 and some from 1920 to 1975.

Biographical / Historical
Otto Duke (1899-1983) was a mechanical engineer in the western United States.
Born in 1899, Otto Duke was educated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. He worked as an instructor in that program in the 1930s, and later served as the secretary-treasurer of the Intermountain Alumni Association of the Theta Tau fraternity there. During his career in mining engineering, Duke worked with numerous mining companies,including the United States Smelting, Refining, and Mining Co. in Alaska, Chicago, and the western states; F.C. Torkelson Co. in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Alaska; Utah Construction and Stearns-Roger in Tucson, Arizona; Allis Chalmers, Traylor Engineering and Manufacturing, Columbia Steel Co., and Geneva Works; as well as the U.S. Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah. Duke died in 1983.
