Contains letters by Paul R. Nielsen written while he was serving as a Mormon missionary in Argentina and Germany. Nielsen describes tracting, getting along with his companions, evaluations of his Spanish speaking skills, and basic instructional letters from the Mission President and church leaders. Also includes letters from his family, updating on news, like outings to Aspen and the decision to put in a swimming pool. Also includes weekly reports where the number of contacts made, lessons taught, and hours spend tracting are recorded. Dated circa 1963-1971.

Biographical History

Paul R. Nielsen (born 1944) is a Mormon civil servant in Murray, Utah.

Paul R. Nielsen was born July 3, 1944. His parents names are Arthur H. and Vera Richards Nielsen. He married a woman named Alicia in 1978 and had two children with her, Julie Anne and Peter. Alicia also had a son from a previous relationship, named Victor Falcon. Paul worked in the Defense Department as a Test Coordinator for the ASVAB test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). In this job, he worked with school administrators, recruiting services, and the Office of Personnel Management to schedule over 212 tests per year for 23 years. After several marital and family problems arose, Paul and Alicia divorced in 1996. He then met Gloria Venegas Torres Nielsen and they were married on November 3, 2001. Gloria was previously married to man named Camilo Torres from 1966-1999. They had four children, of which Paul is their stepfather. Paul is retired, and he and Gloria currently reside in Murray, Utah.
