Lewis Pintard Bayard correspondence, 1835-1840

Contains correspondence to Lewis Pintard Bayard while on a missionary journey to Jerusalem and other locations from May 25, 1840 to October 16, 1840. The correspondence is mainly to his wife, Cornelia Matilda Rhea concerning his trip and his death, but there is one letter to King Phillippi of France and one map of Jerusalem.

Biographical note
Lewis Pintard Bayard (b. 1791) was a reverend and father-in-law to Robert Walter Weir.
Lewis Pintard Bayard was born July 23, 1791 to Samuel Bayard and Martha Pintard in Frankford, Pennsylvania. Bayard married April 29, 1813 to Cornelia Matilda Rhea. He was the rector of the St. Clement's Church in New York. Lewis also traveled to Jerusalem, Beirut, Paris, France, and London, England for missionary work. Bayard died September 2, 1840 in Malta.
