Materials contain memoir titled "Jay E. Wheeler: Prisoner of War" written by the niece of Wheeler after his death regarding Jay E. Wheeler's service as a bombardier in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II from 1942-1945. Memoir chronicles Wheeler's experiences in chronological chapters including sections about his pre-military life, training, missions, and time spent in a prisoner of war camp, Stalag Luft I, in Germany. Also includes letters transcribed letters by Wheeler. There are also many documents and photos included in the memoir from the different points in his military service. Dated August 1998.
