Scope and Contents note
Materials contain papers relating to the military service of Floyd E. Haupt as a navigator in the U.S. Army during World War II. Includes typescripts, certificates (some of which are in French, but most are in English), photographs, photocopied military documents, Italian money, and newspaper clippings, maps, poems, and a magazine entitled "Reminisce". He discusses his harsh stateside training and terrible conditions at his base in Italy. Haupt includes official lists of his 50 combat missions over continental Europe. He details missions to Vienna; Romania; Fredrickschafen, Germany; and Yugoslavia. Also included are documents related to his decorations, and a brief unit history. Dated 1943-1947, 1992-2004.
