Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a chapter from Gail S. Halvorsen's book describing his activities and achievements from 1998 to 2001. Recounts his service in the United States Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1974, and becoming the "Candy Bomber" for his "candy raids" during the Berlin Airlift. Also mention shis participation in supply drops over Bosnia, Albania, and Micronesia. Discusses the 1998 flight and celebration in Berlin on the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, Halvorsen's airlift in Albania in 1999, his airlift in Guam in 2000, other celebrations of the Berlin Airlift, and events in Halvorsen's life. Also includes a biography of Halvorsen, a training certificate, and photographs. Dated approximately 1945 and 2001.
