Materials contain papers relating to the military service of Robert D. Hemingway as apilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Contains information concerning his flight training and his overseas base at Mendelsham, England. Provides a detailed account of 35 combat missions. Also includes information about London, where he spent his time off. Hemingway also discusses his non-combat assignment at the 5th Strategic Air Depot in Merville, France, as an assistant operations manger. Collection contains photographs and negatives of Hemingway, his crew, and Merville. Includes photocopies of Hemingway's diary of combat missions and a newspaper clipping describing a bombing mission from November 30, 1944. Dated 1942-1945, approximately 2000.
