Contains the scripts and instructions of the Montevidisco project, including a walkthrough of using Montevidisco on a Macintosh computer. There are two versions of the scripts: one for male students and one for female students. Materials date from 1992-1993 and were compiled by Jerry Larson.

Biographical History

Jerry Larson if a professor at BYU that improved the Montevisdisco program in 1992.

Dr. Jerry W. Larson is a professor of Spanish Pedagogy and Director of the Humanities Technology and Research Support Center and the Foreign Language Achievement Testing Service at Brigham Young University. He received his Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education and Spanish from the University of Minnesota in 1977. After teaching Spanish for three years at Northern Arizona University, he was invited to join the faculty at Brigham Young University in 1980. His main professional interests have been in researching and developing technological applications for language learning and testing. In addition to other computerized teaching and testing programs, he, along with colleagues in the Humanities Research Center at BYU, created user enhancements to Montevisdisco, one of the earliest reported computer-controlled, interactive videodisc programs designed specifically to aid in language learning.
