Contains correspondence, telegrams, and notes between Stephen Slesinger Inc., Zane Grey, Lina Elise Grey, Romer Grey, Edwin G. Bowen, and others concerning the publication of Zane Grey stories in serial form and in Big Little Books by Whitman Publishing Company. It also includes advertising proposals for Zane Grey to endorse products, and Jack Abbott's role as illustrator. Correspondence also concerns King Features Syndicate, Whitman Publishing Company, Harper & Brothers, Grosset & Dunlap, foreign publications, newspaper strips, illustration and plot continuity, motion picture production, publication rights, royalties, rights for RKO Pictures, Columbia Pictures, and Paramount Pictures Corporation, radio broadcasts, and Lina Elise Grey's reminiscences about her husband, Major Hoople, Alley Oop, King of the Royal Mounted, Tex Thorne, Red Ryder, Western Union, George Washington, Frontiersman, The Light of the Western Stars, The Fighting Guacho, The Vanishing American, Twin Sombreros, Majesty, Riders of the Purple Sage, The Deer Stalker, Spirit of the Border, and Zane Grey Magazine. These materials date from 1934 to 1953.
