Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a short description of the military service of Dewey Anthon Topham in the U.S. Army during World War II. Includes his capture during the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and his eventual death in a hospital due to his treatment in German prisoner camps. Includes a personal letter from his brother that describes his feelings towards Dewey, and the strength and hope that Dewey derived from his Bible. Photographs show Topham's Bible, retrieved from the German prisoner camp, and Topham in full military dress. Items contributed by Topham's brother, Waldo S. Topham. Dated before 2001.
