Scope and Contents note
Materials contain papers relating to the military service of Richard Hulme Nebeker in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944-1945. Contains description of Nebeker's training in Camp Hale, Colorado during which he was a ski instructor. He describes combat in Italy during campaigns in the North Appennines, including heavy artillery fire and the massacre of German prisoners. Includes experience of combat on skis and mentions arrival and party in New York City after the war's end. Also contains a brief excerpt from Nebeker's war diary and a photograph of Nebeker and a comrade in Italy. Dated 1945, approximately 1990.
