Typewritten journal includes nearly daily entries from January 1, 1919, to December 31, 1920. Begins and ends with Talmage in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most entries are of meetings, lectures, funerals, and other duties pertaining to his calling as an Apostle, particularly attending stake conferences and traveling to different regions of the United States. Mentions attending meetings of the Book of Mormon committee, tasked with making revisions and printing a new edition, throughout much of 1920. Includes newspaper clippings and programs related to Talmage, including many on Talmage's addresses on various topics. Dated 1919-1920.

Originals restricted. Digital copy of the first twelve of thirty volumes of Talmage's personal journals (1879-1911) available online. Unedited typescripts and microfilm of all thirty volumes also available.
Conditions Governing Use
The literary rights to the Talmage collection rest with the Harold B. Lee Library and the Talmage family. Permission to publish material from the James E. Talmage collection must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services at specialcollections@byu.edu.
