Material contains the autobiography of the wife of Friedrich Sass, Hedwig (Heidi) Wilma Minna Johanna Ront. Contains an excerpt from the autobiography of the first-born son of Sass, Jurgen Sass. Includes photocopied photos of Sass in his uniform and with his wife, also photos of his headstone. Contains the personal history Sass translated by his wife, which includes details of his introduction to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his induction into the German Air Force and fighting on the Russian front during World War II. Contains the biography of Sass written by his grandson, Darwin H. Sass. Included in file are transcribed letters written by Sass to his mother and his wife during the war, also includes a letter written by Sass's commanding officer with the news of Sass's death and his condolences. Contains a list of Sass's duty stations, his service records, certificates of achievement, and his obituary. Dated after 1940.
