Biographical History
Gilbert M. Bertelson was born on August 9, 1942, in Provo, UT. After graduating from Granite High School and the University of Utah and serving an LDS mission in California, he joined the US Air Force, where he served as a pilot for 24 years. His time with the Air Force took him to Thailand, Okinawa, Hawaii, England, and many other places, until his final assignment as commander of ROTC at BYU. After he retired from the Air Force, he stayed at BYU to serve as director of the EMBA program in the Marriott School of Management. He passed away on December 7, 2017.
