Scope and Contents
Contains Alvin Fielding Smith's letters to Amelia Atkins during their courtship. The letters are written from Montpelier, Idaho and Pocatello, Idaho to Atkins in Salt Lake City, Utah. Smith writes of his affection for Amelia, or "Millie," his meetings and outings with business associates, details of his daily life and business dealings, problems with the train schedules, and mentions correspondence with other family and friends. He frequently expresses his gratitude for Atkins's letters, and states that they ease his loneliness. Dated December 1, 1902 - December 30, 1902.
