Contains letters exchanged between members of Sarah Oakey Sirrine's family, both those that preceded her and those that followed. They were written primarily in Idaho and Arizona and date between 1862 to 1945.

Biographical / Historical
Sarah Oakey Sirrine (1854-1942) was a Southeastern Idaho pioneer. Sarah Oakey was born in Nottingham, England March 31, 1854. At the age of 8, she immigrated to the United States with the rest of her family. They travelled by boat and by train to Florence, Nebraska before taking wagons out west to Utah. It was there in Utah where Sarah was baptized a member of the church. A short time after their arrival, they were asked to settle the Bear Lake region of Southeastern Idaho. In the small community of Dingle, Sarah was raised and on November 6th, 1879 she was married to George Edward Sirrine. Except for a few years in Mesa, Arizona, the two would live out their whole lives in Dingle, Idaho, having 6 children together. Sarah died in Dingle, Idaho on August 12, 1942, at the age of 88.
Biographical History
Hazel Dawn Ream was born in Dingle, Idaho, on November 9, 1925, to Wesley and Mary Ream. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in clothing and textiles. She later went to New York University and earned her master's degree. In New York City, she worked as a retail buyer. Later, after moving back to Provo, Utah, she married Jesse Duckworth Curtis in 1955. They had 4 children together. Throughout her life she served in numerous civic and church positions, including the first female president of the Granite School Board. She passed away May 15, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
