Biographical History

Kenneth E. Bona was born in Provo, Utah, in 1939. He had a difficult childhood and never graduated from high school. Although he was too young, he tried to join the navy, but they wouldn't take him. The Marines were more desparate and they let him join in 1956. While on leave back in Utah, he met his future wife and they got married when she was fifteen. After the birth of his first child, he was sent to Japan. He served for a time there, in Arizona, and in California before being sent to Vietnam, where he served several tours. After the war, he worked as a Marine Corps recruiter until he retired at age 38.
