Biographical History

Ivan E. Tidwell was born in Wellington, Utah in 1923. He graduated high school in 1941 and spent some time working and attending college before he was drafted in 1943. He served as a log scaler and a truck driver for the Army across England, France, Belgium, and Germany. After the war, he studied economics at Brigham Young University and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission. He married Betty Jean Jenkins in 1951. He worked as a teacher, postal office worker, and contract negotiator for the Air Force.
