Typescript of an interview with Robert D. Hemingway, conducted by Ben Bahlmann on December 4, 1999 in Alpine, Utah. Bahlmann retained the audiocassettes from which the trascription was made. Hemingway talks about his training to be a pilot for B-17 bombers, his deployment to England, and his combat missions over Europe starting in September 1944.

Biographical / Historical

Robert D. Hemingway was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in California. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a pilot of B-17 bombers, and was stationed in the European Theater beginning in 1944. As of 1999, Hemingway was a resident of Alpine, Utah.
