Scope and Contents
Statement from James Allen and R.B. Mitchell, Council Bluffs, approves Mormon request to be able to remain on the Pottawatomie lands for a time, dated July 16, 1846; copy of statement of permission from the Pottawatomie Indian chiefs to allow the Mormons to use their land, dated July 2, 1846; at bottom of page is statement from Mitchell, written near Council Bluffs, giving his approval, dated July 21, 1846.
