Materials include an original letter from John K. Kane and Thomas L. Kane to Elisha Kent Kane with advice to visit Manila, Philippines. They tell him that his mother's (Jane Duval Leiper Kane) health has improved. Thomas gives Elisha a description of their mother's and their siblings' well-being. Dated September 27, 1843.
