Scope and Contents

Materials include an original letter from John K. Kane to Elisha Kent Kane. John shares his feelings of loneliness with Elisha, tells him that he is trying to secure letters for Elisha's brother Thomas L. Kane in France, and describes the presidential race between James C. Calhoun and Martin Van Buren. Dated September 28-30, 1843.
