John K. Kane letter to Elisha Kent Kane, 1843 December
Scope and Contents
Materials include an original letter from John K. Kane to Elisha Kent Kane saying that he is going to Washington to finish some business and tells Elisha more about what is currently happening in Washington. He says it is likely that Alexander Dallas Bache will succeed Ferdinand Rudolph Hassler as head of the Coast Survey. December 1-4, 1843.
